Solid Wood Countertops That Tell a Story

Every solid wood countertop is fundamentally unique, featuring natural grain patterns and textures.

Beyond its initial beauty, timber is a 'living' material that gains character over time - these natural work surfaces are the backdrop to a busy kitchen, collecting the day-to-day energy of your home and becoming more distinguished with every year of use.

Bring Warmth to Your Kitchen Surfaces

While modern designs lean toward minimalist materials, timber work surfaces provide a vital sense of organic warmth - they create a tactile, inviting environment that softens the transition between cooking and living areas.

Whether you prefer the classic, traditional grain of Oak worktops or the lighter, Scandi-inspired tones of Ash and Beech, a hardwood countertop acts as a grounding element that makes the kitchen feel like a home.

Strengths and Sustainability

Choosing a solid wood kitchen countertop, crafted from sustainably sourced and responsibly processed timber, is a commitment to natural beauty and responsibility.

The resilience of hardwood Walnut and Iroko worktops offer additional durability in the busiest area of the house. From your morning coffee to late-night hosting, the natural resilience of these work surfaces ensures your kitchen remains a stylish, functional, and welcoming space.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Will my wood worktops match each other?

As a natural product, every stave in a wooden worktops is individually unique and no two will ever be identical - however - we will always do our best to check every order with multiple wooden worktops to ensure the grain formation and colour consistency are a suitable match before they leave our warehouse. We always recommend our customers do a final 'dry fit' and match-check before you begin oiling or installing your wooden worktop.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Oak vs Prime Oak vs Full Stave: What is the Difference?

  • Standard Oak: features staves with natural colour variation, classic charm with some character knots
  • Prime Oak: selected for a more uniform, delicate grain with fewer character features; perfect for a sophisticated, contemporary look
  • Full Stave Oak: the pinnacle of our range; uses 40mm wide staves with minimal colour variation that run the entire length of the surface, creating a refined, consistent look for unrivalled luxury
keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Do I need special brackets for timber?

Yes - wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with your home's humidity. We recommend using slotted brackets or stretcher plates which allow for a few millimetres of natural movement. You can find more detail in our wood worktop installation guide.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up How do I clean and maintain my wooden surfaces?

Simply wipe down with warm, soapy water and dry immediately. To keep your wooden surface looking its best, we recommend regularly oiling your worktop - you can conduct a 'bead test' to see if further oiling is required - if water doesn't form as droplets on the surface, it’s time for a quick maintenance coat of oil.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up How do I care for my wooden worktops during installation?

To protect the integrity of the wood, we recommend oiling your surfaces immediately upon receipt with Osmo TopOil. If you aren't installing right away, store your wooden worktops flat on bearers in a damp-free environment. This prevents the timber from bowing and ensures it stays level for your fitters.
