Iroko Wood worktops

Known for its exceptional durability and elegant appearance, Iroko resembles teak in both grain and colour, with its light hues that gradually mature into a rich golden-brown.

Our range of Iroko worktops are unoiled but sanded, ready for you to apply specialist oil. We recommended using Osmo TopOil Clear Satin (3038) to protect this tropical hardwood, applying thin layers for controlled saturation. Due to the unique characteristics of Iroko, other Osmo TopOils are not suitable for use on this work surface.

When oiling your worktop, we recommend applying 2-3 coats of Osmo TopOil to the surface with an additional 2-3 coats on the edges immediately after installation.

Features of this Worktop

  • Delicate light hues deepening to rich bronze upon oiling
  • Unique grain pattern
  • Create a cohesive look with a Iroko upstand
  • Easy to customise and refinish
  • Built to last, each with its own unique character

Please note: our images show Iroko worktops that have been oiled - unoiled Iroko worktops will be significantly lighter when delivered.

With basic care and maintenance, your Iroko worktop will last a lifetime. To protect its natural characteristics and ensure longevity, we recommend conducting a water droplet test every 3-6 months: if water droplets fail to bead on the surface, it’s time to apply a new coat of Osmo TopOil.

Iroko Wooden Worktop 3M X 620mm X 27mm
We were delighted to find there was a showroom in Glasgow as seeing a worktop 'in the flesh' was much better than looking online. Still to install the worktop (which is not destined for a kitchen, but my jewellery studio), but it looks great, was a reasonable price and delivered really quickly!

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Frequently Asked Questions
keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Can I see a sample before I buy?

Choosing the right grain and tone is essential for achieving your desired kitchen aesthetic. You can order worktop samples for our entire wooden worktops range directly online - we highly recommend doing this to see how the natural timber interacts with the lighting in your home.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Do you offer custom-sized work surfaces?

Yes - whether you need a specific length or complex shape for a kitchen island, our online Bespoke Worktop Tool allows you to customise your order. If you use our customisation service, select 'Create Offcut' from the Tools when cutting to size and we'll include all the offcuts from your timber so you can repurpose them for smaller home projects.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Do you sell offcuts?

Whenever you customise your worktop using our Worktop Customisation Tool, we will send you all of the pieces that are removed in order to create your perfect shape. Unfortunately, we do not hold or sell any offcuts separately our customer always receives all of the worktop they purchase (apart from any non-viable slivers!). If you want a smaller piece of worktop, our bathroom worktops, are a great option for people looking for a small worktop section.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Will my wood worktops match each other?

As a natural product, every stave in a wooden worktops is individually unique and no two will ever be identical - however - we will always do our best to check every order with multiple wooden worktops to ensure the grain formation and colour consistency are a suitable match before they leave our warehouse. We always recommend our customers do a final 'dry fit' and match-check before you begin oiling or installing your wooden worktop.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Oak vs Prime Oak vs Full Stave: What is the Difference?

  • Standard Oak: features staves with natural colour variation, classic charm with some character knots
  • Prime Oak: selected for a more uniform, delicate grain with fewer character features; perfect for a sophisticated, contemporary look
  • Full Stave Oak: the pinnacle of our range; uses 40mm wide staves with minimal colour variation that run the entire length of the surface, creating a refined, consistent look for unrivalled luxury
keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up Do I need special brackets for timber?

Yes - wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with your home's humidity. We recommend using slotted brackets or stretcher plates which allow for a few millimetres of natural movement. You can find more detail in our wood worktop installation guide.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up How do I clean and maintain my wooden surfaces?

Simply wipe down with warm, soapy water and dry immediately. To keep your wooden surface looking its best, we recommend regularly oiling your worktop - you can conduct a 'bead test' to see if further oiling is required - if water doesn't form as droplets on the surface, it’s time for a quick maintenance coat of oil.

keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_up How do I care for my wooden worktops during installation?

To protect the integrity of the wood, we recommend oiling your surfaces immediately upon receipt with Osmo TopOil. If you aren't installing right away, store your wooden worktops flat on bearers in a damp-free environment. This prevents the timber from bowing and ensures it stays level for your fitters.
