Question
“We’re about to order oak worktops from you but before we do, we noticed worktop lengths in 2, 3 and 4 metre options. Do you do a 5-metre length?”
Answer
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer worktops as long as 5 metres, largely due to courier capability: lengths exceeding 4 metres are very difficult to transport successfully on our 2-person delivery service.
As an alternative, we would recommend opting for two 2.5m worktops that can be joined together using connector bolts (creating an almost seamless finish). If required, we can customise your worktops with the necessary recesses on the underside of the worktop before delivery, and ensure that the two worktops will match closely enough to look like one continuous wooden worktop.
This type of joint is commonly referred to as a ‘butt joint’, and is often used to join worktops at right angles, but is also perfectly suitable for joining worktops end-to-end (as long as the worktops are sufficiently supported on either side).
