  1. Hi I.m getting my kitchen fitted on sat 15 th of December how many days does it take for delivery to Paisley for a black sparkle solid laminate worktop thanks.

  2. Hi Paul,

We offer a next-day delivery service to the majority of England, Scotland and Wales (including Paisley) for standard orders placed before 12 noon (our bespoke service has slightly longer lead times). We recommend placing your order as soon as possible, as we usually do not recommend arranging fitters until after your worktop has been delivered and you are happy with it.

    Kind regards,
    Stephanie @ Worktop Express

  3. Hi, how are solid laminate worktops joined – is it the same as ordinary laminate ?

  4. Hello Chris,

We actually recommend using a biscuit joint to fix solid laminate worktops together and a 2-part epoxy resin to secure in position and seal. You can find step-by-step instructions for doing this in our installation instructions here: https://www.worktop-express.co.uk/solid-laminate-worktop-installation-instructions#jointing and you can purchase a Zenith worktop installation kit here: https://www.worktop-express.co.uk/solid-laminate-worktops/zenith-worktop-installation-kit

  5. Hi
Is there a minimum unsupported span for using solid laminate?
When finishing the edges of the white marble solid laminate, what is suggested to seal the edge that won’t discolour the ‘white’ look?
    Thanks

  6. Hello Sara,

The maximum unsupported overhang we’d recommend is 300mm on solid laminate worktops. The edges of our white marble solid laminate surfaces can be oiled using linseed oil, and this should not discolour the edge.

    Kind regards,
    Stephanie @ Worktop Express

  7. Hi, my work top length is 4.2m x600.
I see on your black sparkle ordinary lamenate you go upto 4.1m. Would your fabrication team be able to make one 4.2m?
Ditto on the solid lamenate, would prefer.
    Thanks. Kev

  8. Hello Kevin

Thank you for your message. Although we cannot make a full 4.2m long black sparkle worktop, we can create the butt joints so that all you have to do is connect them together once delivered. Unfortunately, our solid laminates are connected in a slightly different way, using biscuit joints, which we currently do not offer on our bespoke service.

If you contact us on 0345 22 22 644 our team will be able to help. You can also send a fabrication diagram through to our team via fabrication@worktop-express.co.uk, or you can use our innovative, interactive online bespoke worktop tool which currently offers 10% off all fabrication services.

    Kind regards,

  9. Hi, can you have Belfast sinks with this worktop?

  10. Hi, can you have Belfast sinks with a solid laminate worktop?

  11. Hello Natalie

Thank you for your message. Yes, the solid composition of these worktops makes them suitable for use with undermount sinks, including Belfast sinks.

    Kind regards,
    Stephen @ Worktop Express

  12. Hello Natalie,

Yes, I am pleased to say our solid laminate worktop range can be used with an under-mount sink as its solid core is completely waterproof, meaning it can be used with any of our Belfast sinks.

If you require any additional help, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,
    Ellie @ Worktop Express

  13. Hi,
What’s the difference between solid and standard laminate please?

  14. Hello Roxy,

Thank you for your message! Our standard laminate worktops are constructed from a high-quality composite wooden particle board core and wrapped in a decorative laminate top layer using the process of heat and high pressure. These worktops are low-maintenance and affordable.

Our range of solid laminate worktops are comprised of several layers of laminate compounded together to create an incredibly hard-wearing worktop. These surfaces are more durable than traditional laminate worktops which makes them perfect for busy households. Solid laminate worktops are heat resistant (up to 180° for 10 minutes), waterproof and can be used with under-mounted sinks and have drainage grooves routed into the surface.

If you require any additional support, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

    Kind regards,
    Ellie @ Worktop Express

  15. Hi
Thinking of a solid laminate worktop as part of a stand alone bar.
We would like to have part of the worktop act as an overhang along the 3m length.
Is this ok, if so what is the maximum size you would consider advisable, the worktop is 650mm wide, if we were to have a 200mm overhang this would leave 450mm which would be siliconed to the top of the bar. Would this 12mm worktop sag over time

    Thanks

    Paul Bett

  16. Hello Paul,

Thank you for your query. It is fantastic that you are considering our solid laminate worktops for this project! We have a huge range of stunning worktops that may suit your requirements. A 200mm overhang should not be a problem, providing that it isn’t supporting any weight.

If you need any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

    Kind regards,
    Ellie @ Worktop Express
