Oak worktops

Oak is our most popular wooden worktop option, largely due to its versatility. It will suit both contemporary and traditional kitchen styles, and is available in a range of styles and sizes – our selection includes prime oak, deluxe oak and full stave oak for a variety of looks and budgets.

All of our oak worktops require oiling several times in the first few months in your kitchen, which is something to bear in mind if you are considering replacement worktops. That said, the striking look of 40mm thick solid oak is well worth the maintenance required. Read our installation and aftercare guides to find out how to keep an oak worktop looking its best.

Our other solid wood worktops

If you are wanting your kitchen to really stand out, our range of sustainably harvested solid oak worktops provides options to suit any style. From Ash to Zebrano, visit our solid wood worktops page to see the entire range of species we have available. For a more luxurious look, choose our chunky 90mm stave or full stave options – full-stave covers the entire length of the worktop and shows off the natural beauty of the timber to best effect.

Here, the varying tones of our walnut worktop with 40mm staves create an eye-catching centrepiece in this otherwise whitewashed kitchen. With the modern cupboards and mid-century frosted glass bridging units, this picture shows that a well-chosen wooden surface can lift your kitchen and elevate it above an area that is simply used to prepare food.

All of our solid wood worktops require maintenance following installation – this will be the same for whichever species selected. We recommend using Danish Oil on our wooden surfaces because it is quick to dry and provides protection against marking and water.

We currently have 37 laminate worktops for you to choose from in a selection of styles including realistic granite-look surfaces, glass-effect tops and three different shades of our Andromeda sparkle styles that feature a beautiful metallic glitter for an eye-catching design. We also have wood effect laminate worktops, which replicate the natural grain patterns of solid wood for a low maintenance option that is perfect for even the busiest of households.

In this stylish kitchen, our Calcutta marble laminate surface contrasts perfectly with the restrained Farrow & Ball-painted cabinets and adds light to an already well-lit room.
