Worktop Express Blog

After some careful preparation, we’re proud to announce the opening of our new trade counter! Now not only can customers collect orders, samples or paint swatches from our Gloucestershire warehouse, there are a range of products on display so the quality can be witnessed first hand.

We’re particularly proud of the counter itself which is an innovative ‘patchwork’ construction of our entire standard range. As can be seen in the pictures below, the counter consists of wide sections of the individual timbers – from wenge to oak to walnut and everything in between! – all pressure bonded together into one dazzling worktop. The worktop has also been fabricated to show what can be achieved with our bespoke service, incorporating all the edge profiles (the ever popular pencil edge and other favourites) and some superb radius corners.

In our opinion, there’s no better way to appreciate the sheer range on offer and gain unique insight into the timbers by viewing comparatively – or simply enjoy the magnificence of solid wood, displayed at its best!

Collections must be ordered 24 hours in advance without fail, but customers are always welcome to pop in and see what’s on offer. Our trade counter address and opening hours are as below:

The Sally Prout School of Dancing Worktop Express® have long taken an interest in Gloucestershire talent and when we learned that the time had come for the Sally Prout School of Dancing’s bi-annual show, we were delighted to lend a hand!

Established in 1985, the school has gone from strength to strength and is now a leading local institution, with many pupils going on to continue their studies at the Royal Ballet and the English National Ballet. This year we were treated to a production of Sleeping Beauty, a wonderful show which involved jazz, ballet and tap performers from pre-primary right up to senior school.

Performances ran for a week at the Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham and parents, teachers and friends mucked in throughout rehearsals and behind the scenes to ensure that things ran smoothly. Worktop Express® donated vehicles and 2Man personnel for transportation of set and props, plus a few keen members of staff to help backstage.

In the end, Sleeping Beauty played to great audiences and raised £3,000 for charity: congratulations to everyone involved!
