Maple & Walnut End Grain Butchers Block Worktops...
Our mixed Maple and & Walnut butcher blocks can be used to create an incredible centre piece of your kitchen. The dark, attractive grain of European Walnut contrasts perfectly with the light, subtle tones of European Maple to great effect.
Mixed Maple & Walnut end grain butcher block worktops are formed by joining and pressure bonding a similar amount of both Maple and Walnut staves in a vertical formation. This is in direct contrast to standard worktops, where staves are finger joined horizontally. By constructing the worktop in a vertical formation, the end grain of the timber is now used as the working area, which creates an extremely hardwearing, durable and tactile surface suitable for direct cutting and meat preparation. The end grain of the worktop, which is not usually visible on a standard kitchen installation, is also blessed with a unique depth to its grain pattern.
Our end grain worktops are supplied in a chunky 100mm thickness, to create a real statement finish. We stock butcher blocks in a variety of species to suit all requirements. Our end grain butcher blocks are available in a 1000mm X 620mm X 100mm square section, or a 620mm diameter X 100mm circular design. Please view the 3D diagrams at the bottom of the page for clarification.
End grain worktops can be cut on site to create the desired size, alternatively we can offer a bespoke service for different sizes / thicknesses, which can typically be delivered within 5 weeks from confirmation of diagram. Please note, we do not currently offer a fabrication service for butcher block end grain worktops.

Worktop Express® is a distribution company in the truest sense of the word; and cost-effectiveness is built into our business model.
With Worktop Express there is simply no middleman: we even operate our own in-house 2Man delivery service to maximise efficiency. When you choose Worktop Express, you are choosing a group of specialists who devote their expert attention to every step of the process and are single-handedly responsible for sourcing, stocking, marketing, and distributing the product. Ensuring that we are the only link between the customer and manufacturer allows us to offer the most up-to-date products in the market for lower prices than any other retailer.
Our large stock holding - over 20,000 worktops are held in stock at any time across various locations - and sheer purchasing power dictates that the prices we can provide direct to the public and trade are extremely competitive. We do not share the same overheads as high-street stores (on average an initial 270% markup tends to be applied just to cover warehousing and staff costs) and therefore can achieve similar profit margins - but without overcharging customers! Our direct internet delivery model and advanced stock ordering allows us to minimise costs.
We have five strategically-placed depots throughout the UK, all of which are serviced by an impressive fleet of in-house delivery vehicles. As a result, we are able to offer an unparalleled delivery service: cost-effective, consistent, and prompt.
The belief that superb quality can go hand-in-hand with affordability is a lynchpin of the Worktop Express ethos. As a result we are confident that the Worktop Express product range far outstrips the quality of anything you will find on the high street - and often at a fraction of the cost.
