“Do you have solid wood worktop offcuts for sale?”

We were recently contacted on Facebook by Matt in Leicester, who asked whether we sell solid wood worktop offcuts.

QUESTION:

“Hi there! Do you have any iroko offcuts I can purchase? It’s for a custom project and though I’ve already bought worktops off you, I don’t need an entire worktop to finish it off”

ANSWER:

Hi Matt,

Thanks for initially purchasing your iroko worktops from us. We’re glad that you were happy with the timber, but unfortunately we don’t sell iroko offcuts to customers.

Any solid wood worktop offcuts created from bespoke worktops our fabrication team have worked on are offered to the customer who has placed the order, and if they do not require them, we cut the sections up and use them to create worktop samples and other products.

Any small offcuts that are created that may otherwise be considered as ‘scrap’ are used to fuel our fabrication warehouse’s wood-burning heater in the cooler months. This is a very environmentally-friendly source of fuel that is more efficient than gas or electric for heating such a large space.

We take any wastage very seriously, which is why we employ stringent environmental practices at every step of the sourcing and manufacture of our worktops. All the wood worktops in our range have been constructed from high-quality timber sourced from only the most sustainable, well managed forests.
