Can I use your wood worktops as an office desk?
Question
“Your block wood worktops look spectacular for kitchens, but I wanted to know whether you would recommend using them for office desks, too? I like the idea of having a bespoke desk to suit my home office and your surfaces are considerably better value than other options I’ve seen.”
Answer
There is absolutely nothing to stop you from using wood worktops as an office desk; we have provided many worktops for use as desks, dining tables and many other situations other than as kitchen surfaces.
Many of the worktops we have provided for use as a desk have been subject to bespoke fabrications so that they can fit perfectly into the customer’s office or study. Popular alterations include soft profile edges to make the worktop more comfortable; butt joints to connect two worktops for a corner desk; and internal radius corners and holes to neatly accommodate cabling.
You can view some prices of some of our customisation services on the worktop customisation service page. Of course, if you would like a more specific customisation, our team will be willing to assist if you can provide a diagram of your requirements, complete with measurements.
We do not currently sell a range of legs that would suit office desks, so you can either use sections of a wooden worktop as supports or order suitable legs from a third-party supplier. Before placing an order, make sure that the supports you choose can take the weight of the timber, as large hardwood surfaces can be very heavy.
