“How often should I oil my real wood worktops?” Question of the Week 31.12.16

QUESTION:

“We installed some of your wood worktops before Christmas and now that I have finally got round to cleaning up all the clutter I wanted to know how often I should be oiling the worktops to keep them looking their best?”

ANSWER:

With consistent oiling, real wood worktops should last for many years and will continue to mature in colour as you apply fresh coats of oil.

As each kitchen is unique it's impossible to give an accurate timeline but we recommend reoiling your worktop once water is no longer beading on the surface, generally, this will be between 1 and 3 years. Simply re-apply one coat of Osmo Top Oil onto the clean and dry surface.

We recommend you read our Oiling Worktops Nutshell Guide, which covers everything you should need to know, but if you have any further questions about oiling, please don’t hesitate to get in touch again.
