4 Homes feature August 2010

As part of channel 4's "4 homes" season, Worktop Express were especially selected to provide a full set of fabricated worktops to Paul and Claire Baker. Their house in Brentwood, Essex, was in dire need of renovation and our oak worktops were their first choice to provide the transformation that was required. After liaising with Kirsten Plume, our fabrication manager, the worktop plan was finalised, and six oak worktops of a moderately complex design were delivered fully finished, complete with various butt joints, radius corners, cut-outs and drainage grooves. "We cannot thank you enough for the high quality work surfaces that you provided to enable us to complete the Kitchen for Channel 4’s Help! My House Is Falling Down.

The quality of the engineering and the ease at which I was able to fit these was exceptional. Not being a kitchen fitter or carpenter the idea of installing work surfaces was pretty daunting. So much easier to get this from a large chain DIY store i thought.

How wrong i was! Since receiving the aged oak work tops from Worktop Express I would definitely say to anyone not to be put off. They are the easiest work surface to keep looking clean and tidy and any scratches or marks are easily removed by sanding down and re-oiling. They look beautiful and really finish the kitchen off beautifully.

The most critical part of the fitting was making sure the measurements were correct. This done the worktops arrived, treated and cut to perfection. The fitting was quick and easy and the pre cut grooves under the surfaces enabled me to pull and fix joints of the worktops together quickly and efficiently leaving a finish I would expect from a seasoned tradesman!

Home - The New Reclaimers Feature September 2011

Worktop Express is proud to have supported The New Reclaimers series, exclusive to the TV channel Home (Virgin 265, Sky 246) by donating a selection of solid wood worktops. Oak and beech worktops were chosen to be installated in two new kitchens throughout the series.

I'm pleased to say that all of our makeovers went really well, and our contributors were all extremely happy with their new homes."

Worktop Express are soon to feature on a popular channel 5 property series that will air summer 2011.

After being personally selected by the presenter, Worktop Express came to the rescue after the existing supplier failed to deliver. Worktop Express supplied top quality European Walnut wood worktops for the property show.

Worktop Express Wenge Worktops to Feature in 2011 Restaurant & Bar Awards

Earlier this year we supplied Bea, from Bea's of Bloomsbury, an award winning London afternoon tea shop with over 30m of wenge worktop.

Bea was opening a new shop in One New Change, Land Securities' latest development located on Cheapside in the heart of the City of London. Our wenge worktops were used for the entire dining and servery area, set over two floors. A large variety of timber was required, including one bespoke worktop measuring close to 5000mm in length.

This new Bea's of Bloomsbury shop has been shortlisted for the 2011 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.

"The UK based Restaurant & Bar Design Awards rewards both designers and operators for design excellence. Now in its third year it is the only international concept of its kind dedicated exclusively to design."

BBC1 'To Build or not to Build' - September 2011

Back in July 2010, Worktop Express supplied a fabricated worktop to Barry Deeks to help him with his design and build project for a new home he was constructing. The BBC filmed the entire construction and it will be shown as an episode on the new series of 'To Build or not to Build'. The Bespoke Oak Worktop features a 360mm ellipse at one end, which creates a functional space within the kitchen.

Our episode of 'To Build or not to Build' airs at 11am on Monday 5th September. Watch it on BBC1, channel 101 on Virgin Media & Sky.

UKTV Home 'The New Reclaimers' - September 2011

Worktop Express will also feature on 'The New Reclaimers' on UKTV Home in September after donating some solid oak worktops and glass splashbacks. Tune in and catch a glimpse of our warehouse, as well as one of our Sales Executives, Vickie, who was interviewed!

'The New Reclaimers' airs on Monday 5th September at 10pm (splashbacks) and Wednesday 7th September at 10pm (worktops). Watch it on UKTV Home, channel 265 on Virgin Media and channel 246 on Sky.
